Dimitri told me that his love had faded, and Lissa basically eliminated me from her life since I apparently 'ambushed' him. The only two people I cared about and needed had pushed me away, and life just didn't feel like living anymore. I had to stick around though, because unfortunately no matter how much they had hurt me, I still had duties to protect them. So, I faked my death.
