He was out for revenge against the one who had dared to use Real Nightmare against him. Death was too kind for her - he would make her suffer. He wanted to twist her until she was only a shadow of her former self; he wanted to make her feel his pain. He did not anticipate that she would forgive him without his permission and show him kindness - that she would save him from himself.
