"Batman has a habit of adopting stray orphans." After 6 months of being ignored by Superman and other adversity. Bruce offers to make Conner his ward and to give him mentorship. But things don't turn out well for the former teen of steel when his something inside him develops. Takes places during 5 year gap in between S1 and S2.
