The war is over and Harry isn't taking no for an answer. His advances force Severus to look back at his life choices. He has to consider that the only way to stop Harry's misguided pursuit, is to tell him the truth. He's Harry's father. His birth-father. And even that might not be enough to keep Harry's hands off of him.
