Surviving the death of his wife was something that he thought should have broken him. Surviving the bite from that monster should have broken her. He wanted to make sure that everyone would be safe from him that moon and she wanted to be away from it all. Who would have thought that Moony would find himself with a second pup, though this one was already mostly grown?
