Swearing to never touch basketball ever again after the fiasco at the National finals, Kuroko Tamaki and Ogiwara Shigehiro chose to leave in order to get away from the memories, finding themselves in Karasuno—with a new team and a new sport, thus deciding to help the once famous team climb to the top.
