Jean-Luc Picard never thought he would be a father. Or that he would marry Beverly Crusher. He has now done both of those seemingly impossible things. This is a short one shot of Picard contemplating Rene's existence and meaning in his own life. Could fall within book canon shortly before the book Paths of Disharmony. Cross-posted on AO3.
