Sirius couldn't deal with things alone. Actually, Sirius couldn't deal with things, period. Not things that involved real, adult emotions and decisions. Not things like best friends tragically dying. Not things like having your one year old godchild suddenly under your care. Those kind of things shut Sirius down. He needed to get to Sirius.
