Hermione lay dead in Malfoy Manor, giving her life for their cause. When Dobby finally rescued them, twisting through crushing darkness to the safety of Shell Cottage. Ron collapses against the shore, cradling her broken body and begging for her to wake up. but the flush of life had long since faded from her and she cannot hear him or answer him back.
