Summary
Historical-fiction. Twelve year old Ned Nickerson is captured by Indians in 1865. He lives with them, learns their ways, and becomes one of them. He considers himself an Indian warrior, no longer white until he meets a white woman held captive in an Apache camp. Can she lead him back to the white world or is the gap too great?
