Are we Friends, or More?

Poppy & Branch have been best friends since childhood. Both are inseparable. They've been friends for a long time, but they're both not sure how to address what changed to make go from ‘just my best friend’ to ‘I am in love with you.’ Was it a traumatic event that made them realize how much they needed & loved the other person? A change in looks that made them see them differently?
