The begins at that fateful Birthday Debacle in NewMoon. This time, when Edward leaves, Bella is not quite as broken. We don't have months of wordless depression but Bella still seeks comfort from Jacob. Carlisle remains at the hospital. Surely their paths will cross. Bella doesn't have to say goodbye to the vampiric and supernatural world just yet.
