"Aren't you scared?" he asked, knife poised at the ready. Because he was curious. She trembled but she didn't beg. She flinched but she didn't scream. Surely, she was scared. Who wouldn't be in this situation. He brought the knife down with force, except he stopped just shy of her heart when he heard her whisper, "I'm scared shitless."
