Most Anything

As Mrs. Bennet nears death, Mr. Darcy asks Mr. Bennet why he chose to marry her. In reflecting on the matter, Mr. Bennet recalls to himself how he was caught when Miss Gardiner gave him permission to do "Most Anything" if he would propose, but also how this and her prior conduct resulted in him losing all respect for her.
