This is the story of, not the Freedom Fighters in general, but of one special Freedom Fighter who was not like the others. The first book of this multi-book fanfiction series contains Smellerbee's story and many other adventures along the way in the forest before heading to Ba Sing Se in book 2, but for now, enjoy book 1.
