Already she can tell, already she can hear the whispers that follow her. Already she sees how the other Muggle-borns are treated, how the half-bloods are treated, already she has deduced that those whispers do not happen to the Slytherins. I don't want to be brave, or great, she thinks. I want to be cunning. I want to survive.
