One should choose their friends carefully, or in his case, he'd rather not choose at all. Try as he might, he couldn't escape fate, and he's forced into a situation that will test his cynism and his disdain for a certain group of Demon Slayers. He may not like working for that organization but if he can't help it... then at least he will become a man that can keep his promises.
