When Hogwarts was founded, the founders pumped as much magic as they could into the castle. Once they recovered from magical exhaustion, they did it again, feeding Hogwarts with their magic. Because of this, as long as Hogwarts stands, the founders will be born again. If only they knew where Helga was. No ships. Follows books and some time after. Canon compliant.
