Dirk Strider has been convicted of first degree murder of the serial killer. Though he saved other lives and suffered at the hand, the judge couldn't claim she believed entirely that he didn't have a personal vendetta involved with the killing. He accepted his fate without fight, and now has to deal with being in the privately owned maximum security prison. Sequel to Spectrum.
