A prequel based on my story "Of Broken Hearts and Letting Go". Could stand on its own but you should read my other fic first. This is Gally's past, the story of the fateful day that he was attacked and almost killed - the incident that brought him together with Ben - and when Gally shut Ben out until Ben died. This is the story of why Gally hates Newt and why he is afraid of him
