Summary
Medjai woman Arsinoe left her tribe years ago to become a doctor in Cairo. When Dr. Bey asks her to accompany troublemaker Evelyn Carnahan on her trip to Hamunaptra, Arsinoe has to face her past and the traditions and customs she so gladly left behind. Her belief that she wants no part of the tribe is even more challenged when she meets chieftain Ardeth Bay again.
