It took Obi-Wan a while to realise that Anakin Skywalker was not a 'problem to be solved'. All the many different colour contrasts that made up one extraordinary man were what made him Anakin – and so important to Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan just wished he hadn't failed him so badly. Or: Obi-Wan doesn't want a Padawan, gets a Padawan anyway, realizes it was what he wanted all along.
