Ginny was half afraid of what would become of her daughter when she was grown. With her ruby hair and her golden eyes, and her incongruous, dirt streaked clothes. One of the hardest parts of parenthood is the moment you realize your child is not quite so childish anymore. When baby curves have turned long and strong, and the sweetness has turned into a personality of their own.

"Whenever I try to draw you," Scorpius said, slower and quieter than before, "It's like I'm killing you, a little bit. Like I'm trapping you in a cage. I dunno – it's ridiculous – but that's why it never quite turns out right. That's why you look like – that." Life after Hogwarts is ... quiet. Joining the Order of the Phoenix comes with a surprising amount of bureaucracy, Godric's Hollow is an extremely small village, and James and Lily are 19 years old and not quite sure what to do with themselves. The unwanted peacefulness that fills their lives is shattered when they uncover a Death Eater plot that could change the course of the war.

"Did you know," Lily asked him. "That wizards have serial killers? They're calling him 'The Heartbreaker'." In which James and Lily, (through blind idiocy and sheer luck) catch a serial killer, James is mistaken for said serial killer, and everyone is thankful that they're not actually detectives, because that would probably end poorly for all involved.

When you mix a plot, a lie, and two people in love, odds are it'll end badly. And when murder is involved, it's almost a certainty. Lily regrets using a particular spell, the Order works to foil a Death Eater scheme, and Lily and James try to keep a secret. Part of the Falling 'verse.

There's something a little bit magical about Lily's favourite bookshop... "Wizards couldn't do something like this, James." "What do you mean?" Lily shook her head. "We take magic for granted. "Y'know," Remus said. "There is a reason the Forbidden Forest is forbidden. Werewolves aren't the worst things in here. Fairies are nasty tricksters – your parents probably told you all stories, didn't they?" In which the Marauders decide it's a stellar idea to go rambling through the forest, and they start telling fairy tales, because Remus is a nerd and the others humor him.

As Voldemort is rising in power, Lily Evans is falling in love. It happens so slowly she barely notices, and so quietly that she's the only one to know. James Potter has loved Lily Evans since practically the moment he met her, but even he's starting to lose hope. A Marauders' era fic that spans their fifth to seventh years, with all the pranks, angst, and fights that that entails.

First times are always terrifying, and this was no different except it was. This was strange and unknowable, and it wasn't so much something to be given, or something to get over with, as it was a part of growing up, as inevitable as scraped knees and doctors' appointments. As it turns out, more difficult than expected. There are awkward silences and weird eye contact and general uncomfortableness. Or - a short foray into James and Lily's first date.
