Berk is taking its reputation for cold winters to an absurd new low. Fortunately there is hope in the form of an unexpected hero.

The rewrite - slightly longer with new Author Notes: The Red Death is dead and Stoick's son is badly wounded, but how can they return home when the fleet they arrived on is destroyed? Fortunately Vikings are strong and resourseful but how long will it take for them to become accustomed to working with their new dragon allies and will the whole tribe be able to accept the New Berk?

Hiccup and Astrid are back In Elydonia for the wedding of Sigrid the Strong to King Joric the Fifth but, as usual, not much goes as planned because the dragons have made some of the Kings enemies a little upset.

Now that Hiccup the One Legged Wonder is home on Berk and awake again, there is much for he and the other Vikings to get used to with their new dragons (and for Hiccup and Astrid, a new relationship). This will be several short stories covering the first year after the Dragon War's end with Hicstrid, humour and adventure.

New name and re-write of 3rd story. War is hell; and the Dragon Riders first experience of battling against men was far more stressful than any of them had expected so Huccup decided that they could all use a bit of a holiday but little do they realise, that they are under investigation and the presence of poachers won't help them to relax either.

It's several months after the first Snoggletog with the dragons and Stoick is frustrated, Snotlout if flirting, Astrid is hiding, Gobber is exploding and Hiccup has a plan. But strange men are on a nearby island and they have everyone concerned. This will force a certain one legged Viking to alter his carefree lifestyle - not much - just a lot. Some Hiccstrid, romance and some war.
