Two people who have always minded their own might not be able to anymore. What happens when those set in their ways and their lifestyles, beliefs and hopes for the future realize that that might not be the only way to live? I'm terrible at summaries. Give it a chance.
"The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference." It was not a union of love or convenience. It was out of political necessity that Eomer of Rohan and Mareke of Harad were wed. To not be cared for is a terrible thing. To stare down a long life of such treatment is worse. Can anything bring the pair together or shall they navigate all of life's trials and tribulations alone?
Aragorn is left a shell of himself after the War. Arwen took her father's advice and betrayed the fragile hope she and Aragorn had built together. Sailing for Valinor, she left Aragorn open to political games and scheming as far as his marriage was concerned. When a widowed Princess of Harad is presented, he is closed off and unprepared to be her husband or even her friend.
There were many happy occurrences when the War was finally over; alliances were made, marriages celebrated, and Realms rebuilt. But not everyone had a happy ending. Love cannot mend all things, cannot give everyone the future they crave or even deserve. Duty to the homeland comes above all else for many in Middle Earth. For two in particular, this was a bitter reality.
After the War, alliances are made and sealed. Eomer seals one of his with a marriage to a princess from a very different background. Will they ever learn to deal with one another or will they forever clash?
George has had a terrible time coping with the loss of his brother and even years after the War still struggles sometimes. He had never pursued a relationship or any kind of happiness, but maybe a new professor at Hogwarts can help him change his mind.
Will Sirius Black ever really care about anyone or will he just seduce another girl, this one with a case of ugly duckling syndrome. Or will said ugly duckling reject all of his advances either way?
