After the Gryffindor team wins the first match against Slytherin early on in their sixth year, Lavender and Ron hook up. Hermione runs away in tears after she witnesses this in the common room. She catches some fourth years with a bottle of firewhiskey and decides to confiscate it, but after talking to Harry, she runs into an equally sullen, sulky, and drunk Malfoy.
