Take out all the Christian imagery and symbolism from NGE, and replace it with gods of two European cultures that were eradicated by the followers of Christ: the Celts and the Norse. set in the original Mystery Dungeon games, after returning to Pokemon Square and before going to fight Rayquaza; Whiscash tells the hero a story about a man whose strength was unrivaled, and of the brother he barely knew. He was a cruel man, an unforgiving man, to whom strength was the law and defeat was unthinkable. It's the story of the hero, in his violently human past.
