Hotch left the BAU to go into business for himself as a personal adviser. Emily Prentiss is one of his clients, hiring him to protect her from anonymous threats. The more Hotch tries to get to the bottom of things, though, the more secrets his client seems to hide until it's a matter of life or death for both of them. AU set some time after Season Five.

This story takes place in an alternate universe. There is no Lightman Group. Cal and Gillian both still work for the Pentagon. Their path's cross when they are part of a classified operation that puts them in mortal danger.

The hallways of The Lightman Group are empty. There was no farewell party, no tearful goodbye. The staff simply left and will come back tomorrow. Cal won't.
