Cream & Cheese are captured by the Hard Boiled Heavies. The mechs are in search of the Chaos Emeralds and Emerl, the black sheep of the group, senses Cream's recent exposure to one of the gems. Cream vies to protect the emerald and honor the trust Tails put in her. Captive though she is, Cream perceives that Emerl's loyalty to the heavies may not be absolute.

Sonic pursues Eggman to another world and finds that the diabolical scientist has already taken over. The hero quickly plans to liberate the planet before learning that Eggman's domination is not as simple as he first believed. Is it possible that one planet's enemy is the savior of another?

Eggman abandons earth to conquer another dimension. He sends back technology offering perpetual renewable energy to rescue humanity from the climate crisis. Sonic is placed in a moral dilemma on whether to stop Eggman or leave the other realm to its fate.
