Summary: A/U – Three years ago, Elena's parents died during a vampire attack on the Founder's Council, but not before making a deal with a vampire named Damon Salvatore, who promised to protect her against the Original vampire that is seeking her out.

It's been six months since Damon's sister Mia and his girlfriend Katherine were assumed dead. His life lost its purpose; the two most important women in his life vanished and with them his heart followed. But there's still hope. There is someone out there that still believes they're alive, and together they begin their search for the lost girls. AU
