In the series we see Yamcha hook up with Bulma briefly however as we know she quickly she quickly dumps him to hook up and eventually marry Vegeta after this Yamcha just goes on a downward spiral and doesn't meet anyone else after this. In this alternate timeline though he does meet someone who likes him and sees him as her equal and as the title implies she's a saiyan.
