Hermione couldn't bear to stay in Britain after the war. But she left a wake of questions behind her as well as a best friend who missed her very much. What happens when he eventually decides to track her down in an entirely new environment? Can they renew their friendship? Could it be something more?

Her best friend's life was a mess and she would have done anything to make things better for him and his sons. So, when she found her former enemy in a similar situation her heart went out to him as well... and the beautiful blond baby in his arms didn't hurt his case. It was certainly enough for her to give him a second look.

Last year Draco was embroiled in a war with little hope of surviving to see another Christmas. He'd defied the odds. This year he just wanted to spend the holiday with the bushy haired witch he was rapidly falling for, which didn't seem like too much to ask. But then Potter appeared and he and Granger both started acting like they'd gone mad and he was forgotten. Of bloody course.

Draco extracted a box from his pocket and flipped it open to reveal the most exquisite ring Hermione had ever seen. She gasped. "No Granger, I meant I literally have a proposal for you," he held her gaze as he spoke. "What do you say? Marry me and help me put one over on the Ministry. I know you're dying to stick it to them." This is a fic which is ostensibly about a marriage law.

Five years ago a marriage law was enacted. Harry and Hermione did what they always do: she came up with a Plan and they tackled it together. Now they've fulfilled their obligations under the law and it's almost time for them to divorce and go their separate ways. Harry is far from happy about it, but does he dare tell his wife? Hogwarts is holding a Valentine's masquerade ball and this might just be Hermione's opportunity to reconnect with somebody she thought she'd lost.
