"No parents are perfect. They make mistakes." (or, Elsa, Snow, and Emma, post-"Smash the Mirror.")
"Why, what did you do in New York on stormy days?" "We watched scary moves," Henry answered with a grin. "Mom would make popcorn and we'd curl up on the couch with blankets and put on as many scary movies as we could." (or, the Charming Family and Captain Swan take on horror movies)
Dinner had flown by, as had dessert. Neither of them had been willing to end the evening, though, so they'd come out here to have a few more moments together without taking up one of Tony's tables. (or, what else happened on the Captain Swan date)
"What is it?" Henry asked, looking up at Mr. Gold in wonder. "It's a soldier's medallion from the Enchanted Forest. Very old .. and some say a powerful good luck charm. I think it might be just what Miss Swan needs." (or, what if the Charmings had the opportunity to have everything they thought they wanted?)
"Your magic is instinctual." Elsa raised her eyes to the snowflakes, which now hung in mid-air between them. They stopped moving once Emma directed her attention to them, which only proved Elsa's point.
Emma had been so lost in thought that she hadn't even noticed her father watching her with a concerned expression. His soft voice startled her when he asked, "How come you're not out there?" Emma wrinkled her nose. "I don't dance." (or, Charming wants to dance with his daughter and Emma learns that 28 is not too old to have a first dance with her father.)
"You two deserve some time to yourselves and I want to hang out with my baby brother, ear infection and all. You're not imposing on me, I offered my services. Neal will be fine, I will be fine, and you two are going to have to actually wait for a table if you don't leave right now." (or, Emma offers to babysit her sick baby brother and hijinks ensue.)
Emma winced, which turned into a full-brown cringe when she heard her father sneezing in the bedroom. Oh no indeed. Things were about to get so much more exhausting, weren't they? "I hate to tell you, Mom, but I think you and Dad are coming down with the squirt's cold."
David set the knife and mayo jar on the counter before turning a concerned look on Emma. "I was just wondering why my daughter was awake and preparing a sandwich at this hour." (or, a midnight chat with Charming and Emma, a few days post-4x11.)
Though it was probably only less than a minute, it seemed like Emma was upstairs for an eternity. Snow and Charming were just on the point of following her to apologize when she emerged from her room and returned downstairs with a portfolio in her hand. (or, Emma shares part of her past with her parents)
"Because no matter how old you are and no matter how old they are, you're still their little girl ... They're happy because you're happy; let them share in it." (or, Frozen Swan and the Charmings post-Captain Swan date)
I could have lost her tonight. (or, the Charming Family and Captain Swan following 4x02)
Out of the corner of her eye, Emma saw her parents and Killian doing the same thing she was, stepping up to the windows to stare out at the winter wonderland their quiet afternoon picnic had suddenly become.
What the hell else could Emma do with her magic if she actually set her mind to it? Maybe it was time to start practicing again, like she did with Killian that night at Granny's. (or, the Charming family, Captain Swan, and magical hijinks.)
It took another couple of minutes but eventually the kid dropped his bombshell. "You know, Mom, it's not cloudy out tonight." And in one inward-groan-inducing second, Emma got it. "Let me guess. There's also a meteor shower tonight, right?" An excited grin formed on his lips as he nodded. "So can we go out and watch it?" (or, the Charmings pull an all-nighter)
I am never drinking with Captain Hook again. That was the one clear thought running through Emma Swan's increasingly muddled mind. Never again. Never ever again. (or, some Captain Swan silliness)
