Reese and Finch have 2 new numbers, and finding the real threat may be more difficult than they think. This story is a lot like traditional, number-oriented episode of Person of Interest. I'm not sure how well this sort of thing works on paper, rather than on screen, but I gave it a try.

The Machine gives Finch the titles of books that have no Dewey Decimal numbers, because the books don't exist. Only Elias can help them find out who is in danger, but Reese and Finch do not know that Carter freed Elias from prison before she died. This is a sequel to The Last Witness, and it contains characters introduced in that story, so please read it first.
