Leaving Kensi at home in bed, Deeks heads to the beach to catch some waves. His plans change when a small plane tries to make a water landing. A small girl is trapped inside. Will he be able to save her? Can he keep his promise to the little girl without breaking his promise to Kensi?
Deeks stuns the team by accepting an impromptu offer to work an operation with Gibbs. They finally realize what he means to them. It hits them harder than they ever thought possible. Losing a team member at the hands of the enemy is always a possibility, but they never saw losing one of their own to another team coming.
Everyone that knew them would have guessed Kensi or Deeks would have gone out in a blaze of glory. Not that it would have been easier to accept, but it would have made more sense. As it turns out, at least they went together. ****WARNING: MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH****
Deeks comes up with a plan to prove his partner wrong for mocking him... Can he pull it off?
Kensi backs out of the trip to Mammoth with Deeks, among other things, which sets a string of events in motion that will eventually lead them right back to each other.
