9S and 2B find themselves reliving their first mission together, with no recollection of how they got there or why, but with every reason in the world to make sure things turn out better this time. But second chances don't always work out any better than they did the first time around, and soon our heroes will discover that in some cases, fate will not be denied.

This is a story that takes place in the year 2021. How will things differ, now that all the characters from the original series have aged by six years? How much higher will the stakes be raised now that NERV and SEELE have had six more years to scheme and prepare? How will the pilots handle the trials of Evangelion now that they are all adults?
