Silence lay over the old, proud houses of Grimmauld Place. People were either away over the school holidays, or inside avoiding the heat. The only people left outdoors were a couple - the man tall, the woman pink-haired - who were standing in the park opposite Number 12, throwing sticks to a pair of large black dogs. At first he thought it was a dog. A big, grey dog that was smiling at him. Then he knew he hadn't seen a dog that big before and decided it must be a wolf.
Every now and then, we have those moments that define us, for better or for worse. And instinct takes over... because in that moment, we don't think and just act. Those moments show who we are and what we're made of. And at that time, we surrender our facades and reveal our true selves to the world. "The whole point of this war is to fight Voldemort! You've said a thousand times that he's winning if we let him interfere with our lives and make us suspicious of each other, but it looks a bloody lot to me like that's exactly what's happening!"
The door opened. Remus stepped out in his pyjama pants, rubbing his damp hair with a towel. He looked up at Peter, who was chewing his fingernails in anticipation, and at James and Sirius who - upon reflection, James realised - must have been looking extremely guilty.
