After not eating for over a week among other things, Dean decides to take Cas to the hospital. Cas tries to keep things light, but after some less than fortunate news from the doctor, things aren't that great. Cas spends most of the time there comforting Dean through an emotional wreck, but then it turns out maybe this isn't such a bad thing after all. [Domestic AU] (No one dies)
After getting distracted on the road, Dean and Cas end up rolling down the side of a mountain on the way into Denver. Dean ends up injured, leaving Cas to do most of the prep work for the oncoming snowstorm. Dean guides him through it all and when the storm hits and they're left helpless, all Dean and Cas can do is wait.
Cas wakes Dean up in the early morning with a painful stomach ache. Dean spends the rest of the morning trying to help him get better - making him food, trying to keep him cooled down, trying to figure out ways to help him. After trying multiple things, it becomes apparent that nothing Dean will do can help Cas out, so Dean resorts to making Cas as comfortable and they wait it out.
After bumping into only one of his favorite singers ever - Castiel Novak - on the street one day, Dean finds himself invited out to lunch. And then again. And then again. Everything in Dean's wildest dreams slowly start coming through as Castiel finds himself falling for one of his biggest fans. [Eventual Rating Increase]

Sequel to Party Hard: Five years later, Cas is back in town - but not alone. He and Dean remain best friends while Dean makes it his personal goal to win Cas back, which shouldn't be too hard considering the slutty excuse Cas has for a girlfriend. Should it?
Dean and Cas just moved back to Lawrence after getting married, but Dean left back to LA immediately upon arriving there to tie up loose ends. Cas is anxious for him to come back just so they can be together again, but when Dean doesn't show up after a while, Cas fears that maybe he didn't have as big a role in Dean's life as he thought.
Cas comes home to find his parents waiting for him to have a discussion on him having sex. He completely denies all the accusations and then finally leaves to go to Dean's - where his parents follow him and find out that all their suspicions were true. When Cas returns home, he gets attacked and yelled at about it and runs back to Dean seeking comfort in his boyfriend.

Cas immediately falls for Dean and starts holding his hand and cuddling against his side and Dean falls for him back in return. Despite Sam being near, Dean and Cas don't let it keep the two of them from their unspoken embraces.
Canon!Verse Like a good best friend, Cas knows it's Dean's birthday and wants to make it something special and memorable - even it it's at his own non-replenishing grace.
