Jim and Spock seem to enjoy entering each other's personal space.
Spock encounters Jim at the Academy. They get to know each other and sparks fly. The relationship blossoms. And one night Jim falls upon a hobby that Spock has been doing on the side for extra credits. Spock is an established photographer, and he wants Jim to pose for him. Nude.
Spock grabs any chance he gets to touch his Captain. But he does it so innocently that no one notices how it truly affects him.
Jim wishes to see Spock again but all he has our memories of what they shared.

Spock Prime realizes that the man before him is not his Jim. He remembers his Jim and is glad for whatever time he has left. Even when the ship lurches left and right, you can be sure that they often go flying in the same direction. It's always nice to know that your friend will be there to hold you up so you don't fall. To keep you on your feet, to steady you after the event. Innocently of course.
