It's hard to predict the results of words and actions at such a young age. It's difficult to fathom that an idea formed without much logic or reason will carry on through to adulthood. It's terrifying and exhilarating that the ideas and stories from childhood have such curious results in adulthood. And this could be no truer than with the case of Lily, Petunia, and Severus.

James knew this day was coming. Before joining the Order, he thought it would be fun. He used to think that apperating into battles were cool and stunning Death Eaters would be exhilarating. He could easily day dream what it was like to have Sirius by his side, laughing in the face of Death as jinxes and missed them by inches. (James-Centric Drabble)

Petunia Dursley's habit of searching for people's secrets merely stems from the fact that she has quite a few of her own. Her insecurity about the few that haunted her made her paranoid and itching to know everyone's while being privy to her own. After all, not many know about the pranks between herself and Lily in September of 1976. (hints of L/J).

Lily Evans was an excellent Head Girl. And James Potter was a decent Head Boy. Though the two have skills that can overflow a resume, the two have some difficulties when a roommate mediation request is submitted. Her insomnia started after the attack (but all her friends think it's the stress of Head duties and school). Though, the more popular rumour is that Lily Evans and James Potter are finally together. Jokes upon jokes about sleepless nights but if they knew the truth then maybe those sleepless jokes wouldn't be so funny (how James and Lily joined the order). L/J.

Sirius Black was probably the most brilliant wizard ever alive. Though he was known in Hogwarts for his deftness with spells and hexes and potions, he simply thought his original ideas were the best. Like when he charmed his motorcycle to fly. Or, at this very moment, when he thought of the perfect and best way to foil the plan of you-know-who.
