Danny is a detective born and bred straight out of the book of "law and order", his partner? Not so much. This is a tale of a late night visitor that gives a frustrated detective an awakening to his partner's genuine humanity. Steve McGarrett, the man with the absolute need to make sure everyone ELSE survives. *Sigh*.
It's true, he does get car sick when he's not driving... but why?
Terror is a funny thing. It strikes fear in the hearts of many and causes some to cower and submit. Thankfully, Steve's not having it, Five-0 isn't having it, and they damn sure wont let anyone else have it. Not on their watch, not on their islands and most definitely not when it involves their own Jersey detective.
After a tramatic explosion, Danny finds himself connecting with the simplicity of the moon above. Sure he and Chin are probably going to die but with a view like this? He thinks it's not such a bad way to go; Even if Steve is threatening to burn down the islands to find them.
Two men; each with a gut and judge of character that neither have every questioned. They are each other's equal but even the strongest of friendships can be frayed when those instincts cross and two men, two brothers suddenly stand apart. Can common sense, their training but most importantly their trust prevail?
Standing in his uniform, with people offering condolences while keeping his emotions in check is the hardest thing a best friend and brother can do. Harder still? Getting justice and revenge so that he and those he loves can finally have peace. NOT A DEATH FIC.
The clown who laughs loudest can be the one who risks the most tears. The toughest soldier may break with the slightest of breeze. Hard cases can get to even the most seasoned of men. This one was personal and only a true friend can help when it seems like all hope is lost. (NOT A DEATH FIC rather a schmoopy cute ending!)
You're wounded, badly, you want to give up completely and yet there's this really, REALLY annoying voice that simply refuses to let you die. Danny has a new experience with a weapon while Steve does everything he can to get the man to hold on just a little longer. NOT A DEATH FIC.
During a hunting trip conceived only by the fact that Danny's manhood had been challenged by the ever smug and grinning Commander McGarrett; the detective pulls the trigger of his rifle only to hear the pained cry of a human being. Danny freezes… Did he just shoot his partner?
His father sick, Danny's forced to rely on another; not one related by blood but all things considered... Steve was more of a brother than the detective could have ever hoped for at a time like this. His mom thinks so too!
It's not the uniform that matters, it's the people who wear them. It's the survivors and the fighters and those who believe in the right side of the law. Five-0 started their case with a body in uniform; two members end it with a hail-Mary chance at survival with hunters right on their heels. Hunters who are interested in something much more intelligent than wild boars...
As much as he knew he knew it meant nothing good; Danny answered his phone in the wee hours of the morning and from there, it all went down hill. Sometimes everything goes wrong but it's okay, because when you're a man who expects the worst, it's oddly soothing to be right.
Steve is a trained Navy SEAL. No one can ever take down a man who has trained all his life to be a soldier, a survivor, a knowing man. Our dear Navy SEAL believed those facts to be absolute... at least until he came up against ten rainbow fingernails and the joy of innocent laughter.
When things get serious it is only human to get a little spooked. Here's how it works, you live, you breathe, you exist together. You may even die together but you will never, EVER dissapoint one another. A feel good piece with our favorite Five-0 boys. Not a slash.
Brother's aren't necessarily related by blood. They can be two people who simply annoy the hell out of each other or amuse each other while silently expressing on overwhelming protectiveness for their partner in crime. On this day one hero tries to save another but in the end, it's all just another moment for Five-0's two famous leaders to suffer through and soldier on.
It's amazing how a random accident and bad timing can change your world forever. Even more incredible is when that accident doesn't mean a single thing when your Ohana is in need.
