She wasn't very good at doing things correctly. She wasn't very good at what she was supposed to have done. And in all measures, she was not a hero by any means. Nor, though, was she the opposite, and so found herself floating in a grey area, between good and bad, between alone and surrounded, between life and death, between a darkness and a second chance.
Three and a half years after the events in 'Runner', the city of Hector finds itself in the midst of a serial bomber that appears to be another germ boss. What it really is, though, is a threat from a long, long time ago. And to defeat it for good, Hector's going to need other heroes from the past. Some willingly, some reluctantly, and some thought to be gone for good.
There was a time, before the Guardians, that something happened so gigantic that few remember the exact details. It's what led to the creation of the Guardians, to Pitch's presence on Earth, and to a story that wasn't told quite right. It left something out, it blamed a hero. And now the Guardians have to decide if they'll face an unknown enemy alone, or put their faith in trust.
