Toshiro never liked the stigma of being different and never felt like being himself. There came a turning point when his and Rangiku's relationship changed and he felt he had to do something to improve the relationship. Thus he found himself stepping way out of his comfort zone and doing something that he felt people would laugh at... traditional dance. He was her student though.
