This is an AU set after "Prisoner of Azkaban" wherein Hermione gets sick and tired of doing what she's told and decides to take matters into her own hands after the death of her parents. Dumbledore is hiding too much, and Hermione is tired of his lies. Harry is the only family she has left and she will do whatever it takes to ensure he lives, and Voldemort finally dies for real.

Hermione wakes up with a tattoo of a phoenix draping over her back and shoulder. She doesn't know where she is. She goes to investigate and finds herself in Malfoy Manor.
