Sirius raises Harry AU with a detective sub-plot. Sirius gets a trial and is freed of all charges a year after his imprisonment. The first thing he does as a free man is take Harry and leave Britain. His occasional letters to friends and one paparazzi snapshot in a Swiss newspaper are the only proof that he and Harry are still alive. Several years later he unexpectedly comes back.

Sirius's lucky that his best friend loves birthdays and parties so much. Otherwise he might have missed some of his own birthdays.
