Mayumi had stolen away Inuyasha's heart from Lady Kikyo after showing him she could love both his human and demon side. In a fit of jealous rage Kikyo kills Mayumi shortly before she pins Inuyasha to the Sacred Tree. Fatally wounded, Kikyo beseeches her sister Kaede to burn the Sacred Jewel with her body. Kaede had other ideas. InuyashaOC
