In an effort to encourage Ron and Harry to do their own studying for their N.E.W.T.s exams (which they were required to pass before they could start Auror training) Hermione makes a bet she knows without a shadow of a doubt she could ever lose. Certainly they could never make straight Es without her help. What could possibly go wrong?
