I have adapted the result of a discussion/argument with a friend and fellow Sherlock Holmes addict into the form of a letter, mostly for my own private amusement. Small spoilers may be included. My intention is to poke light-hearted fun at some of the (minor) inconsistencies in the Sherlock Holmes canon from the person of his editor.

The point of this story is to elucidate the under-rated musical and artistic side of Sherlock Holmes' character. I have made every effort to keep this story as canonical in content and tone as possible. Please enjoy!
