Steve, a young miner, is mostly content with his life the way that it is. Things get bad when he encounters a strange individual by the name of Herobrine while out mining, and get worse when he's chosen to become a "champion" for his village, sending him on a journey. Suddenly, he finds his understanding of the world around him shifting rapidly, though, maybe that's a good thing.

He never intended to get involved, but he'd be remiss if he didn't step in or do anything to help the poor child. (A fic in which Andvari meets a young Herobrine, and promptly decides to adopt him, no matter how long it takes for Herobrine to actually get used to him).
