Steve emerges from the ice in a world too fast and too large for him to comprehend. The only place he can go is to the ocean, the thing that stole away his time being the only thing that still makes sense. There he meets a creature not quite human, whose ethereal demeanor makes Steve feel right in ways the world no longer can. "You said that I could keep you."

How did Loki end up on the Throne? Perhaps it wasn't duplicity that put him there, but loyalty. "Loki wasn't certain what it was that made him return."

Some people treat being a hero as a game. And some people have the exact same approach to being a villain.

"No, Loki." Two words that destroyed Loki's will to fight. Two words that made him let go. Two words. But what if Odin hadn't spoken those two words as his sons dangled off the edge of the Bifrost. What if Odin had understood. "Yes, Loki."

Loki has a done a great number of wrongs in Odin's name. His last has resulted in being hunted by Asgard and has him once more playing the villain. But Loki is tired of playing Odin's games and intends on trying to right his most recent wrongs. It never occurred to him that there could be Midgardians on his side. And he certainly never thought that he would want them there.
